Mr Naga Venkatesh Jayanthi is a Senior Consultant Laparoscopic & Robotic Surgeon specialising in General, Upper GI and Bariatric Surgery, serving patients across Essex from Springfield Hospital, Chelmsford. He provides evidence-based surgical care with a strong emphasis on listening to patients, exploring every treatment pathway, and delivering tailored, minimally invasive solutions. Admitted to Bangalore Medical College with an excellent academic record, Mr Jayanthi moved to the United Kingdom where he obtained his MRCS and FRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and subsequently undertook post-doctoral research in stem cells at the University of Oxford.

Mr Jayanthi is at the forefront of minimally invasive surgery and performed the first robotic Oesophagectomy for cancer in the United Kingdom,  a landmark achievement in British surgical history. Completing advanced fellowships at the ICENI Centre Colchester, St James University Hospital Leeds, and the Ethicon Bariatric Fellowship at Musgrove Park Hospital Taunton, he brings world-class surgical training directly to his patients across Essex. With expertise in robotic and laparoscopic surgery, the focus remains on safer procedures, faster recovery, and truly personalised surgical planning for every patient he treats.
